"One of the most entertaining and interesting books of the famous in show biz,
and their worlds of movies, television, and music,
told with great verve and style by no one more fascinating than the author himself."
-- Al Ruddy, producer of The Godfather and The Longest Yard

PictureCo-author David Fields and Fred.
DAVID FIELDS is a writer and custom video maker. He had the pleasure of collaborating with Fred on four film projects before being asked to co-author Fred's memoir.

The gruff, street-smart Bronx native may be best known for introducing Bruce Lee to the world by producing Enter the Dragon and getting the documentary masterpiece Woodstock made, but his tremendous influence on pop culture doesn’t end there. With an insider’s ear and an outsider’s low tolerance for bullshit, Fred looks back on his fifty-year journey through show business with both affection and attitude.
His recollections of hedonistic Cuba in the 50s, Greenwich Village in the 60s, network television in the McCarthy era, and the world of movie making from the 70s to today are evocative, revealing, and laced with one-liners that would do his comedy friends, like Woody Allen and Joan Rivers, proud.
Old hippies, young filmmakers, martial arts fans, and showbiz junkies, alike, will find something to love in Bruce Lee, Woodstock and Me, brought to you by the man at the heart of it all.

—Flyleaf, Bruce Lee, Woodstock and Me

Read it and loved it. This guy has some real guts, to tell it like he saw it, and to reveal the mistakes and serendipity that fell in his lap. You have to admit that one with this many success stories, he has to have taken some real risks along the way. The inside stories seem to never end in this journey, as it reminds us of what an incredible era of change, artistic freedom and struggle we have experienced in the last 50 years. This book stands with others in the history of folk music, American pop culture, cinema and television, as an insiders personal narrative. Thank you and Bravo!

I just finished this enjoyable book. The most overused word has to be "amazing," and yet that's the only word that captures the spirit of this astonishing memoir.
